Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Each cover of oval and navette shape, rising in a central spire to an acorn finial.
The vases with a rim decorated with a band of flowers, between lattice and vine panels, meeting the lion mask ring handles. The bodies tapering to a rising leaf cup, before the stems tapering outward and downward to a rounded oval foot, decorated with vine leaves and tendrils, as per the covers.
The chestnut vases in very nice condition and rather larger that one would expect.
Date circa 1810.
