This delightful silver and tortoiseshell pot pourri box or pomander was made by the celebrated William Comyns and is dated London 1910. Pomanders are very sought-after and this is an unusual example. Of circular form, the pierced lid with a tortoiseshell panel decorated with a ribbon-tied harp. The pull-off lid opening to reveal a silver gilt interior.
