Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
With good colour and patina to the well-figured mahogany, it is an elegant piece that would grace any room, perfect to use as a coffee table with added storage. Possibly Northern Irish in origin it has a stamp to the lining “William Millar Temple Moll Antrim” with an Irish harp.
