Rare Porcelain Handled Gilt Mounted Bamboo Sword Stick

Description

This sword stick is a rare survivor with its porcelain handle from one of the Dresden factories and its gilt metal repousse mounts. It dates to the late 19th Century, because of the handle, it was probably made in Germany. The bamboo haft is also decorated with gold paint in portrait shaped sections and the blade has the remains of further gilt decoration.

There are some dents to the knop and the blade has some pitting but in general this is a very elegant collectable stick.
