Splendid Vieux Paris (Old Paris) porcelain set of 3 side / dessert plates. Ribbed design with alternating white porcelain and gilded vertical stripes; the sumptuous gold plating makes this a wonderful example of the Empire style.
This shape and gold/white palette were very popular at the turn of the 19th century; similar examples were produced by Royal Vienna as well as Sevres.
These plates was decorated by Jean-Pierre Feuillet (active 1814–1834). The bases are unmarked, but they came from the same estate collection as my other Old Paris items for sale. Please have a look.
