This is a lovely 19th century lignum vitae combination candle and match holder - a Go to Bed.
Larger than most this Go to bed has a candle socket on the lid to take a small candle and a further place to take a match. The lid unscrews for storage of matches and candles. The base still retains its glass paper for striking matches.
This piece measures 10cm h x 4.6cm w.
