Pair of Early 19th C Bronze & Sienna Marble Candelabra

19th century
Description

A Pair of Early 19th Century Bronze and Sienna Marble Candelabra.

With central rising leaf candle holders, sweeping to five rising arms, each holding a candle holder with rising leaf pans, over fluted bodies finished with a second leaf form pan. The undersides of the arms with classical leaf scrolled decoration, fanning out to folding leaf cup, raised on a leaf socle. The socles centre the folding leaf capitals of the outward and downward tapering columns, held within rising leaf collars and likewise concave and leaf banded socles. The columns standing on scrolled and classical anthemion decorated scrolled legs, finished with lions paw feet. The whole raised on triangular concave sided stepped plinths, capped with a leaf and flower rondel. The stepping to the plinths banded with spreading anthemion.

The bronze with an excellent patination, and a good contrast toe the Sienna marble.

Date circa 1830.

Height 23 inches, 59cm.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
