Arrowsmith Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The clock has a porcelain dial with Roman numerals and hand painted musical instruments to the centre with an eight day duration movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside count wheel.

The movement back plate is stamped with the makes name -

Friedrich Ludwig Hausburg was born in Berlin in 1817. He worked alongside his uncle in Paris who specialised in clocks and luxury items. Hausburg joined forces with Promoli in 1840 in Liverpool, who advertised themselves as Jewellers, Watchmakers, Manufacturer’s of Desks, Dressing Cases, Lamps and Chandeliers.

Hausburg retired in 1860, selling his business to W.H.Tooke who continued it from the same address.
