Large Japanese silk embroidery picture c.1920. Impressive proportions, standing over 6 feet tall. Hand embroidered in silk threads with a scene of traditional wooden buildings amongst trees beside a stream. Presented as found on a wooden stretcher within a slim gilded frame. It would appear to be backed with patterned silk and have an applied border (folded behind the stretcher). Some wear to the embroidery and missing the gilding and gesso along the bottom edge of the frame.
