The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The main body in a stunning clear celeste bleu turquoise enamel topped with a wide set of gilt bands, a very fine sawtooth or dentil band below a sandwich of a wide band between two finer. The wider main band has an intricately reserved pattern very well painted in green and black enamel to depict a running piece of swagged silk.

Marked with pattern number C5870 and with the printed registration lozenge mark dated for 1868.
The cup measures 9.2cm (3 5/8") rim to rim and 6cm (2 3/8") high and the saucer is 13.8cm (5 7/16") and 2.3cm (15/16") high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minimal handling wear.
