1930s Buren Half Hunter Pocket Watch

1930s Buren half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a signed 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a presentation inscription from 1930.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of cases and supplier to various watch makers. The case is in good condition, just a small “ding” to the back, nothing serious at all. The front of the watch has a small lens surrounded by blue enamel filled Roman numerals.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photo).

The signed white enamel dial has a faint hairline crack between o’clock and the sub seconds dial but otherwise it is in nice condition with blued steel hands. The watch has the special half hunter hand, designed so that the time can be read (and the hands differentiated between) when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
