A fine quality Victorian ormolu and marble mantel clock with Paris made 8 day bell chiming movement c.1885. White marble plinth with rounded corners and moulded top edge; bead ormolu trimmed edge and matching adjustable feet below. Ormolu casework sat above in the form of a cherub blowing a horn, clock sat to the side in matching ormolu case; superb detail throughout. Paris made 8 day movement with anchor escapement and bell striking on the hour and half hour, sat behind a convex cream enamel dial with floral decoration. Matching convex glass sat in a beaded edge hinged bezel forming the dial door. Paris exhibition mark to the movement. Presented in excellent condition with immaculate original gilt finish, the movement fully overhauled and working.
