Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton Revival furniture from the Edwardian era is defined by lightweight, classical proportions, delicate inlaid marquetry, and high-grade veneers such as mahogany and satinwood. These cabinets frequently feature urn motifs, floral swags, and slender splayed legs inspired by late eighteenth-century patterns.

High-end cabinet makers constructed these pieces using dense mahogany frameworks, satinwood crossbanding, and hand-cut marquetry inlays made from boxwood or fruitwood. Glazed panels, woven fabric linings, and cast brass gallery rails or mounts complete the construction.

Authentic cabinet work from this period features hand-cut dovetail joints, genuine brass locks, thin original glass, and slight irregularities in the hand-laid wood veneers. Modern reproductions often exhibit uniform machine-cut joints, synthetic backings, and printed or laser-etched patterns.

A glazed vitrine serves as a focal point when placed against neutral or textured plaster walls. Style the interior shelves sparingly with ceramics, fine glassware, or art books to create visual balance without overcrowding the glass panels.

Dust wood surfaces regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply beeswax sparingly along the grain to nourish the timber. Keep the cabinet positioned away from direct sunlight and radiators to protect delicate satinwood veneers and prevent structural movement.
