Practical and Pleasing Victorian Small Double Bed

1900 - 1920

Description

This lovely classic straight rail, small double bed, is the perfect size for smaller rooms or perhaps a lucky teenager moving up to a bigger bed! No ends can also be a great choice for rooms with a view.

Good details in the decorative castings. Brass has been aged to sympathise with the bed. Professionally restored to be sturdy and practical, the frame has been shot blasted, primed and hand painted with Little Greene’s Lamp Black, waxed to preserve.

The side rails have been strengthened and adapted to support wood slats or a bed base.

Suitable for mattress size 120cm x 190cm / 4’ x 6’3”

Head height 132.5 cm

Foot height 41 cm

Side rail height 41 cm

Overall width 122.5 cm

Overall length 196 cm

Price includes wood slats (Sorry not mattress).

As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply a 2” or 4” deep upholstered bed base – Bed photographed on slats.

We can also supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices. Please ask for details and prices or look at base and mattress section of our own web site.

Bedsteads have been sourcing, restoring and retailing antique beds and bedroom furniture for over 30 years. We do have many beds awaiting restoration if you are looking for a particular style and can send images if requested.

We have our own workshops located along side our showroom in a beautiful medieval barn seven miles south of Bristol.
