Description

A wonderful and highly decorative desk accessory, this exquisite letter opener is made from solid or sterling silver.

The handle has wonderful raised continuous Acanthus leaf border to the front surrounding a stunning piece of antique tortoiseshell decorated with intricate silver pique work. The blade is engraved on back creating decoration to the underside. The front of the blade is where the English silver hallmark can be found for London 1892. The handle and blade are joined with a heavy and highly decorative ferrule.

Superb condition measuring 9 3/4" in length.
