Superb Quality Victorian Dip Rail Double Bed with Castors

This classic Late Victorian dip rail bed is so indicative of beds of this era, a true British style hand painted in a lovely deep and rich purple tone which feels inspired by popular darker hues of the era. Good quality castings, clamps and joints.

All original brass and castors. Brass has been cleaned and highlighted to show off naturally aged patina. We particularly liked the

Professionally restored to be sturdy and practical, the frame has been shot blasted, primed and hand painted with Little Greene’s Thai Sapphire, waxed to preserve.

The side rails have been strengthened and adapted to support wood slats or a bed base.

Suitable for mattress size 4’6” x 6’3” / 135cm x 190cm

Head height 144.5 cm

Foot height 107 cm

Side rail height 35.5 cm

Overall width 138 cm

Overall length 204 cm

Price includes wood slats (Sorry not mattress).

As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply a 2” or 4” deep upholstered bed base – Bed photographed on Slats.

We can also supply hand-made mattresses in all comfort choices. Please ask for details and prices or look at base and mattress section of our own web site.
