A very stylish Royal Worcester porcelain coffee cup and trembleuse type saucer in the aesthetic style with a dramatic Japanese influence of layered raised gilding of stylised seaweed. A reeded moulded handle with criss-crossed ribbons and finished with gilt dentil rims. Factory stamped marks, dated for 1879, and the saucer with impressed mark also and a gilder''s mark, a signed B over 231 and FR.The cup measures 8.3cm (3 1/4'') rim to rim and 5.1cm (2'') high and the saucer is 13.8cm (5 7/16'') wide and 2.5cm (1'').In excellent condition with no damage or repair, minimal handling wear.
