Edwardian Silver Trinket Pot With Flowers & Scrolls Edging Chester 1902

A wonderful Edwardian oval trinket box in solid silver. The hinged top opens and closes smoothly and has a plain polished top decorated with a very pretty border of swags and flowers around the edge. The body of the box is a lovely plain polished silver with a small rim to the base, and the interior is lighted gilded with a most attractive pale lemon yellow finish.
 
A very attractive and nicely proportioned box in which to keep small trinkets and treasures.
 
 
 
Hallmarks: Very clear hallmarks are visible to the underneath of the box for the Chester Assay Office, 1902 with makers mark for James Deakin & Sons, and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. Partial hallmarks can also be seen on the lid lip.
 
 
 
Condition: there is a tiny pin prick hole to the decorative border, but otherwise the box is in good antique condition.
 
 
 
Measurements: Height: 2.3 cm Width: 7.5 cm Depth: 4.5 cm Weight: 39.5 grams
