Antique French Glove Box with Key

18th century
Description

A good example of an ebonised French glove box dating from the mid to late 19th century. It has inlaid brass strung borders and an ornate brass cartouche with engraved initials "E.J". It comes with a working key and the front of the box is hinged to open downwards.

It is in very good condition for its age and the interior is clean and tidy. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside of the box and some general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
