The oval lid hinging open to a half cylinder compartment within brass facings and with a rough stone lining for striking matches. The oval body with a banded rim, the body sweeping inward and downward to meet the scrolled square section brackets, supported by lions paw feet. The oval base with convex plinths over backward sweeping reeded feet.
Date circa 1830.
