His firm had premises at 13 Denmark Square, Soho during the third quarter of the nineteenth century. Distinctive of their work was the use of dotted marquetry trellis inlay in the 18th Century manner of the renowned Parisian makers. Ross exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London and his work was retailed by top Victorian furniture stores such as Edwards and Roberts, James Winter & Sons and John Watson of Oxford Street.
