This is an absolutely superb quality, silver mustard pot, with original liner, by Mappin and Webb, London, 1919. Made from a heavy gauge silver and a good size, it is rectangular, with wide canted corners, and rests on a stepped base. There is an excellent engraved crest of a dragon on the lid. This is a tactile, perfectly balanced piece, with a thumb opener. The original Bristol blue glass liner is in excellent condition, fits perfectly, and has a ground pontil base. With no damage to either the silver or the glass, the mustard pot is in excellent antique condition. The handle is very robust and the substantial hinge is strong. The hallmarks are crisp and clear on both the body and the lid. ''MAPPIN AND WEBB Ltd, LONDON'' is impressed on the base. In all, a superb item.
