This fabulous quality silver pepperette which dates from 1879 is made by top silversmith Edward H Stockwell and is in the form of a standing chick.
This beautiful novelty Victorian pepper pot has a removable head which has both full UK hallmarks and also French import marks. The inside rim is engraved with the original retailer''s details of: Jones. 41 St James''s Street & 23 Bv Des Capucines, Paris.
The inside of this antique chick is nicely gilded with the tail also being hallmarked for 1879.
This antique chick is a charming piece having fantastic details, in excellent condition and feels heavy in the hand.
Would make a wonderful gift for an animal or bird lover and a nice collectable piece of Victorian silver.
