Antique Set of Eight Late Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs by WARING & Gillows and dating from around 1890. Constructed from quality mahogany and in the Queen Anne style there are seven chairs and one elbow chair. This is a true set as originally there would only have been one elbow/carver chair and that being for the Head of the Household. All of the chairs have a shaped top rail with carved cartouche to the centre above a shaped central back splat. They have the original leather drop in seat pads all in very good condition. They are raised on carved cabriole legs on a claw and ball foot. The elbow chair is slightly larger and with shaped shepherds crook armrests. All chairs marked with the WARING & GILLOWS badge.
