Antique Rocking Ship Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A quality Welsh mahogany longcase clock with rocking ship to the arch. Choice flame mahogany veneers with marquetry inlays. Corinthium capped hood and trunk columns. A well painted dial with rocking ship automaton to the arch, date and seconds indicators. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Ralph Fox of Pontypool worked in Commercial Street from 1850-1852.
