A stunning antique Edwardian bangle depicting a flower and knotted ribbon at the front encrusted with a dazzling array of old mine cut diamonds, with a square step cut sapphire crowned in the centre of the flower. The sapphire weighs approx. 0.85ct and has a deep blue hue that is complemented beautifully by the bright, white diamonds that total approx. 2.5ct.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The gallery is a union of silver and 18ct yellow gold and displays beautiful workmanship and pierced sides. The gold band has developed a lovely patina with age and is fitted with a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side.
It’s a magnificent piece, showcasing a gorgeous collection of precious gems and was crafted in the early 1900s, a time that was aptly named “La Belle Epoque” (The Beautiful Era).
We recommend you insure for £6,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
