Description

George Hamilton Constantine 1878-1967.Sheffield painter of landscapes with figures and seascapes.He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery,Liverpool.He did not need to exhibit his works widely as there was a steady demand from dealers here and New York.In the 1939s he became an assistant to Sir William Rothenstein who was Professor of Civic Art at Sheffield University.Constantine became Director of the Graves Gallery in the 1950s. ‘ Harvest Time ‘ signed watercolour ,image size 17x24.5 cms ,framed size 40x47 cms. Nicely presented in a modern period style gilt and plaster frame with a wash line mount.
