A very rare, good quality, French or Italian, early to mid 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze model of the ''Fauno Rosso or Red Faun after the antique red marble original discovered in 1736 at the Villa Adriana in Tivoli and now on permanent display in the Capitoline Museum in Rome. Very good quality example with a beautiful dark brown patinated, well modelled and finely cast bronze signed to the reverse ''Clodion'' for the french scuptor Claude Michel (1738-1814). Presented on its original Belgian Gris Sainte-Anna marble block base.
