Fantastic rosewood davenport with gilt gallery from the fabulous Victorian era in excellent condition. Its writing slope has a very attractive ox blood tooled leather insert and lifts to reveal a mahogany interior with 2 functional drawers and 2 dummy drawers. A pencil tray to the side is locked and unlocked with one of the handles on the dummy drawers. The panel to the right opens to four graduating drawers with small bun handles providing ample storage for all your stationary needs. To the front there are two beautifully carved supports standing on a plinth base with carved feet. All sides are covered in amazing rosewood veneers and have decorative carved mouldings including the back so it can be free standing in the room. Like all antiques there is some imperfections, however nothing can diminish the quality of the outstanding item.
