Sympathetically repolished in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home.

Dimensions:

Diameter 65cms

Height 74cms

Francois Linke (1855-1946) was a French cabinet and furniture maker. He was born in the Czech Republic in 1855 and then went on to work out of Paris from the 1870s onwards. Francois Linke was the single most driving force behind the transition from Louis XV to Louis XVI styles. Alongside Léon Messagé, he developed a new style for the 1900 Exhibition that paid homage to the Louis XV Rococo - much of his work is characterised by ornate gilding and looks great in high end interiors.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Louis XV revival style features fluid serpentine silhouettes, cabriole legs, quarter-veneered timber panels, and elaborate gilt-bronze ormolu mounts inspired by 18th-century French royal court designs.

Cabinetmakers utilised dense hardwoods such as rosewood, kingwood, or mahogany for veneering, combined with cast and hand-chased bronze mounts (ormolu) and solid brass edge mouldings.

Quality examples display precise quarter-matched or parquetry veneers, heavy finely chased gilt-bronze mounts fixed with original steel screws, and well-proportioned cabriole legs.

Place the table as a focal point in a central foyer, a spacious bay window, or between a pair of tailored contemporary armchairs to balance modern minimalism with historical craftsmanship.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and keep the table away from direct heat sources and sunlight to protect the veneer; clean gilt-bronze mounts using only a soft brush to avoid stripping the gilding.
