This exquisite Antique buckle ring features a wonderful pattered band, modelled throughout in 18ct Gold.
Buckle rings were given in the Victorian era as a token of love or friendship. Belt and Buckle motif jewellery symbolised that the giver and recipient were as well matched as a belt and it''s buckle. They also represented eternity, fidelity/loyalty, strength and protection.
This buckle ring is a particularly fine example, as it features intricate patterning all around the band. The ring also has beautiful hallmarks, including the Birmingham assay office, dating this piece to 1887.
This ring would make the perfect stacking band or a great addition to any collection.
