Description

Antique 19TH Century Flemish Walnut Secretaire Desk and dating from around 1880. Constructed from quality walnut it has a moulded edge to the top above a deep frieze panel. The top folds over and the frieze panel folds down to reveal three deep walnut fronted drawers and original velvet writing surface. This is above a central recessed door to the kneehole and to each side there are two oak lined drawers with original brass handles. It is raised on squared tapering legs on a platform base with original painted gesso decorative carved frieze to the tops and painted gesso bun feet all of which are joined by a shaped frieze.

MEASURES: 31.5” HIGH X 22.5” DEEPX 37.5” WIDE

With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
