A stunning carved tilt top mahogany table.

We bring to you this superb example of a Victorian solid Mahogany round tilt top table believed to be made around C1870. This almost flawless table has been cherished and is in fantastic original condition with its original French polished finish and lightly faded Mahogany colour with lots of patina and charm.

The stunning table top features a moulded edge above its flame Mahogany frieze finishing to a beaded edge. This stunning top stands on its substantial beautifully turned base going to 3 proportionate beautifully shaped carved scroll cabriole legs which finishes to its original solid brass castors hidden underneath the legs. There is little to no movement or play in the mechanism as the table is being normally used, the solid mahogany top is flat with no bowing or twisting and the snap latch smoothly operates.

This table has a small overall form factor yet is versatile from having a round top managing to very comfortably accommodate 4 chairs (6 is possible) and be used as a formal dining room or breakfast table. Already not taking up too much room because of this shape, the top tilts upright for storage with its original quality brass latch and the top is removable via its 2 original table screws with brass heads.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining its original patina and carefully waxing this item to enhance the French polished surface and preserve it for many years to come.

Please note; Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character.
