Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced by the Chamberlain factory in Worcester during the early to mid-19th century, these porcelain baskets feature ornate applied decorations, hand-painted topographical views, and intricate gilding reflecting the eras fascination with fine ceramics and landscape art.

Craftsmen utilised fine soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain, shaping intricate applied elements such as sculpted sea shells and coral by hand before applying enamel glazes, hand-painted central panels, and burnished gold leaf gilding.

Genuine pieces typically feature detailed hand-painted scenes, high-relief applied mouldings, rich cobalt or ground colours with fine gilding, and occasional painted factory marks or pattern numbers on the underside.

Display the piece centrally on a sideboard, console table, or within an illuminated display cabinet to highlight its elaborate profile and detailed hand-painted scene against neutral or classic backdrop hues.

Dust delicate applied shell details gently with a soft artist brush, avoid immersion in water to protect cold-painted or gilded areas, and keep away from direct sunlight to preserve vibrant enamel pigments.
