Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV furniture, produced between 1830 and 1837, represents a transitional design era between Regency refinement and early Victorian solidity, characterised by substantial mahogany timber, bold carved scrolls, and padded upholstery.

Makers primarily utilised dense Cuban mahogany for the carved frames, combined with traditional coil springs, natural horsehair padding, brass studding, and woven textile coverings.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved architectural scrollwork, traditional mortise and tenon joinery, natural timber patination on the underside, and distinct curved cabriole or turned front leg profiles.

Placing a matching pair symmetrically beside a fireplace, console table, or bay window provides architectural structure while contrasting deep mahogany tones against modern neutral backdrops.

Dust the wooden frame using a dry microfiber cloth, apply natural beeswax annually to protect the mahogany polish, and vacuum the textile upholstery gently using a soft brush attachment.
