Rue des Fontenelles has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The oil and canvas is mounted in a more recent frame. There are a couple of exhibition labels on the reverse.

Robert-Léon Salle is the son of Louis Léon Salle, merchant tailor, and Méduline Albertine Guillaume. He was a student of François Flameng and Fernand Cormon , Sallès exhibited at the Salon from 1898 then competed the following year for the Prix de Rome . He became a member of the Society of French Artists . He has won numerous awards.
