Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The caster stands on a raised pedestal base and the pull-off lid is beautifully pierced, with engraved detail and finished with a steeple finial. To the underside of the base is where the full set of clear hallmarks can be found. The gauge of silver is excellent and the caster would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
