A first period Worcester porcelain strawberry dish (also known as a cress dish) and under plate with distinctive barbed shaped rims and printed in underglaze blue with the pine cone pattern. Crescent marks to both, c.1775-1780.
The drainer dish measures 19.8cm (7 3/4'') wide and 4.8cm (1 7/8'') high and the plate measures 21.5cm (8 1/2'') wide and 2.4cm (15/16'') high.
In excellent condition: the drainer has a firing fault at the rim and the associated weakness has led to a subsequent small glaze loss / fractional slither chip. No other issues, damage, repair or restoration. Minimal handling wear. The printing on both pieces is nice and clear but there is a tonal difference with the blue being a bit inkier on the drainer.
