In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It is very well made from solid camphor and has a lovely colour and patina. It also comes with a working key. The lock is stamped "The China Camphorwood Trunk Co".
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. All the brass pieces are present and it is clean and tidy inside. There are some signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks here and there but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and it displays beautifully.
