Here is a very unusual and highly atmospheric painting by Scottish artist David Stratton Watt, of Does and their fawns drinking by the stream, painted in 1946.
The painting has a highly ethereal quality to it, and the colour palette reminds me of the Northern Lights - it is certainly a tranquil scene, and will bring an air of calm to any room.
The framed picture measures 75cm by 59cm framed, with the actual painting measuring 46cm by 31cm, and is dated and signed with a monogram to the lower right.
David Stratton Watt was born in Perth, Scotland in 1912 and is a highly regarded artist, some of his poster designs being displayed in the Imperial War Museum in London.
