Under the drawers are the finely turned front legs that join to the wonderful elm pot board, to the top corners of the legs there are highly attractive pierced frets, this adds to the dresser base some extra refinement.
The fretted corner brackets are taken from Thomas Chippendales influence, that in time would have found its way to the country cabinetmakers, who would have wanted to be up to the current fashion. London fashion often took years to make its way into the country.
