A large Victorian Steel register grate made by Thomas Elsley of London.
This register grate is in excellent condition with its original cast iron back.
The front is polished steel with fine bead detailing. Raised bars with urn finials
and a decorative front apron.
Thomas Elsley was a well respected manufacturer with a workshop on Great Titchfield street in central London.
They were in production from 1882 to 1905 and produced classic Georgian designs as well as innovative metal work.
Elsley produced many of the designs created by C F A Vossey - including fireplace furniture, door furniture and decorative ironwork.
