Worked in gros point in principally coloured wool threads and highlighted with cross-stitch silk, it depicts a couple in a stylised landscape in the l7th century style.

A Wedding/Anniversary present maybe?

The chair frame is structurally sound with some general wear and tear. The seat cover probably dates to the 19th century.
