Description

An impressive inlaid mantel clock by Marti of Paris. A well detailed, rarer green tortoishell boulle case. Inlaid front and sides to the case and to the rear. Gilt case mounts in the rococo style. An enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel 'moon' hands. A well cast gilt dial bezel surround and convex bevelled glass. A gilded wooden base. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed S Marti Paris.. Circa 1895.
