Nice Japanese Meiji (late 19thC) gold & black lacquer inro depicting Mt Fuji with a traveller resting at its foot. The mountain is shown towering above clouds rendered in gold and silver lacquer, the reverse with a forest of pines. The cord is secured via a metal tube at the bottom and a ring above. Comes with a coral ojime. Measures 7.5cm high x 4.5cm x 2.8cm.
