Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

One of the best country made benches I have owned....this was made in the late 18thc entirely out of ash...the legs are spliced by wedges at the top to hold the legs in place, typical of the west country and also the stretchers are spliced at each end by wedges....it has deep incised double line decoration, bordering all the edges of the top....wonderful warm natural colour and patination.....in very good original condition.

English. - West Country. C1780-C1800.
