~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A large and stunning original antique French Baroque clock. Designed as a romantic ruin with an arched top with grotesque masks, fretted side panels and sitting on a gadrooned cushion base. To the sides are 'C' scrolls, and flowers and foliage are draped in swags to the front. A handled urn with pineapple finial sits on the top. The pendulum can be glimpsed gently swinging inside the case through the side panels.

The dial is also gilt bronze with 12 individual enamel cartouches, blued steel hands and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. The dial is also in excellent with no damage.
