~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A beautiful antique French clock. Its is finely modelled in ormolu (finely gilded bronze) and features two lions to each side of an urn to the top. To each side of the dial are exquisite winged goddesses formed into the side of the case. The original gilding is finely matted and polished for a beautiful contrast.

The dial is also bronze ormolu with 12 individual enamel cartouches, blued steel hands and convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with some wear to the high spots, the top of the case and the rear in particular. The dial is also excellent with just some nibbles next to the winding holes.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
