We are delighted to offer this classically elegant Georgian solid silver snuff box made by Charles Rawlings, London 1818.
The box features an understated and timeless Georgian design with reeded band decorations on all sides of the oblong box.
The box has a pleasant feel in hand with slightly ''bulkier'' proportions than a usual pocket snuff box and the rounded/oblong edges make for a stylish overall aesthetic.
The sole area of ornate embellishment can be found on the long thumbpiece that runs along the entirety of the top lid and features a floral chased design which wonderfully contrasts the surrounding simplicity and adds a slight fringe of flair.
The interior of the box is fully gilt (gold on top of solid silver) which presents a nice contrast to the silver exterior whilst also adding a layer of protection from the silver oxidising with the contents held within.
A full set of English hallmarks are present on the interior base with matching marks on the lid.

CONDITION
Good Condition - The snuff box is in good overall condition without major issues. There is some wear commensurate with age and some fine scratching to the interior gilding. One section has a slight ''split'' that does not go through, however can be seen in the last two photos of this listing.
We aim to overemphasize and state these issues to avoid disappointment and thus please rest assured they are not significant nor affect the usage of the items.
Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail.
