Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It is of superb quality and is a very useful size.
This sits on a gun barrel base which in on four splayed sabre legs. The legs have amazing carving where they meet the central column, they sweep down and terminate in brass casters of absolutely beautiful quality. The top has an elongated octagonal shape, and is nicely finished on all sides, so can be used as a free standing item. The top is also cross banded in rosewood.

The condition is excellent for its age, we have had this re-polished. There are various small old marks and bumps here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age. Overall this has a stunning colour tone and a wonderful patina that can only be acquired after centuries.
